When do you need MSC?
MSC will get involved at any stage of your project but
the earlier we are involved, the more value we add
to the process.

Why MSC?
Simple: EXPERIENCE. We know how to navigate regulatory
permit processes better than anyone.

What is the difference between a "permit expeditor" and
MSC?
A "permit expeditor" will fill out your paperwork,
submit your plans, stand in line, provide comments from
the jurisdiction and resubmit. MSC is a permit process
management firm; we understand jurisdictional process
so that a regulatory strategy can be built & customized
for your project.

What is MSC:Connect?
MSC:Connect is
MSC's secure online resource and communication center

reports, request forms, and more.

What is permit processing?
Permit processing requires knowledge of the various submissions,
reviews, permits and approvals that are required for
a particular project and ensuring that various aspects
of the project plans meet all jurisdictional guidelines
and requirements. Overseeing the submission of the
permit applications, tracking the status, and estimating
when the submitted applications will be approved by
the regulatory agencies involved are all additional
components of the overall permitting process.

What is expedited peer review?
The Expedited Building Plan Review Program allows County-approved
private sector peer reviewers to conduct a plan review
prior to submission to the County. Peer reviewed drawings
are expedited through the County permit approval process
cutting review times dramatically. For more information,
please visit our Peer Review page.
^ top
What is the difference between modified processing and
peer review?
Peer Review can apply to any part of a construction project,
whereas projects can only qualify for Modified Processing
if the combined estimated revenue for the project exceeds
$25 million ($20 million for the structures themselves,
and $5 million for the land). Please visit our Modified
Processing page.

How much time can the Peer Review process save my project?
On average, final decisions about project plans submitted
through managed Peer Review are made 40%-50% faster
than through an unmanaged process. Specific time savings
will vary from project to project.

How much will it cost?
The costs of managing or overseeing the permit processing,
submissions, project planning or other phases of any
project will depend upon the scope and complexity of
the specific project. For detailed information regarding
MSC service charges and/or the criteria for submitting
a Request for Proposal, please contact the MSC office
directly at 703-691-1100.
